Codman Square Community Tree Walk – June 1

After several community meetings of learning and listening to each others’ stories, we’re excited to invite community members to join residents from the Codman Square neighborhood on a community tree walk.

Come learn about the trees in the neighborhood and the important role they play in creating a healthy, resilient, and thriving neighborhood. We will be joined by Ph.D students from BU URBAN who will provide expertise on relevant environmental justice topics relevant to the neighborhood of Dorchester such as gas leaks, air pollution, and soil health. During previous meetings, we have shared stories, delved into the science behind trees, and explored a neighborhood map. Now, it’s time to put all that knowledge into action and experience the beauty and significance of trees firsthand!

This walk is supported by an Environmental Justice grant from the Environmental Protection Agency and was done in collaboration with the Codman Square Neighborhood Development Corporation (CSNDC), EveryDay Boston, and EmVision.
