Our Teen Urban Tree Corps summer program has come to an end and we are very proud of everything that our teens have accomplished. EmVision captured some of their work. Watch a preview to learn about how teens supported Boston's urban forest through field trips, lessons, and, yes, even tree climbing!

City of Boston Tree Ordinance Hearing

We were thrilled to participate in Tuesday, August 24th City Council Committee to discuss protections for trees on Boston public and private land. The ordinance was introduced by Councilors Arroyo and Breadon. Lots of wonderful topics were discussed and we look forward to continued collaboration between advocates, the Council, and the Department of Parks and Recreation to shape an ordinance that will ensure a health urban forest for decades to come. Tabling at Boston GreenFest

We had a great time tabling at this year's GreenFest. Special thanks to two of our teens from our TUTC program who came and tabled with us, they did a great job speaking for the trees with us!

Service Days with First-Year Student Outreach Project

This week we're out in the field with First Year students from Boston University's First-Year Student Outreach Project. We got off to a great start on Wednesday, August 25. 14 students volunteered their time in Dorchester to clean tree pits, and to document, geotag, and place Adopt-A-Tree tags to recently planted, trees so local residents can sign up to care for them. Find your local tree in need of care at our Adopt-A-Tree site.
