Join us to celebrate trees today... and for the rest of the week!
As we approach Arbor Day on Friday, we have even more events for you

We've been celebrating trees all week. With a park and tree care event in Mission Hill to a seedling bagging event in the Seaport, we are so grateful for the amazing connections, partnerships, and excitement for trees. Didn't have a chance to join? Looking for something to do this week to dig into trees and tree equity? We've got lots of events planned this week too. Join us tonight, tomorrow night, or Saturday to learn, engage, and celebrate together.

Come hear from some of Boston's leading voices on trees - TONIGHT and tomorrow
TONIGHT!
What’s Place Got to Do With it? with Dr. Lucy Hutyra

Wed April 26 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Trees and green space provide more benefits than can easily be tallied, but not all trees or forests are all the same.  As we think about climate solutions, conservation and expanding our urban tree canopies it is critical to consider the role of place – including local needs and opportunities.

Welcome Mekhi, our Tree Care Associate

Join us in welcoming our Tree Care Associate, Mekhi Edge! Mekhi is a graduate of the first PowerCorps Boston cohort. He enjoys the outdoors whether it be working, walking, or hanging out. He believes working in the green industry is the most satisfying job because you get to watch the fruits of your labor blossom in real time. His hobbies include soccer, writing, and listening to music. He hopes to continue making an effort to fight climate change in the future.

Mekhi will be cruising Boston's streets in our brand new PICKUP truck watering trees and helping residents understand the importance of their local canopy. If you see him, give him a friendly hello and thank him for his work.

We'll be rolling out our trailer soon too and will be looking for help in naming our new pieces of equipment. Stay tuned!

David Meshoulam, states how he worries that advocates and community members aren’t being included in the process of finalizing the drafted ordinance. Although he has provided feedback on the ordinance to city councilors and officials, he said, he has not heard back from them.
