Celebrating Our Summer

Meet our teens...
Theo Chery

"The reason I am here is because of climate change but more specifically I am interested in advocating for trees and maintaining trees... streets trees go through a lot of stress mainly because they don’t have space and their roots don’t get oxygen under concrete."

[More profiles coming next week... stay tuned!]

...and meet the rest of the crew on
Friday, 8/13 at 1pm

Join us to celebrate our teens from this summer's Teen Urban Tree Corps program! They will be presenting their summer projects in which they will have used all the skills they have learned throughout the program to create a tree planting and maintenance proposal for their communities. Come learn about how Boston's next generation of tree advocates and ambassadors hope to grow our city's Urban Forest.

The event will be in person AND streamed online. You will receive a zoom link once you register.

Dell Intern Give Back Event

We would like to thank Dell for inviting us to speak at their Intern Give Back Event last week. We shared the history and importance of Boston's urban tree canopy and shared a tree activity with nearly 100 interns from all over the country. We hope they are inspired to celebrate, preserve, and foster tree growth wherever they live.

Help the City of Boston make the beautiful variety of forest stories people have to share visible by sharing you own story through Photovoice! Submit a photo or video with a caption that responds to one of three forest-related prompts:

  • In what way do trees fit into your idea of home or community?
  • Share an image or video that captures how trees planted or lost have impacted your home or community.
  • Share an image or video about how trees are part of your culture, traditions, spiritual practice, or folklore.

Tabling at Patagonia Boston

Our last tabling event this past Sunday at Patagonia's Boston location was a huge success. Thank you to everyone who came and met us, your enthusiasm for the well-being of Boston's urban forest blew us away! We would also like to thank our TUTC teen Theobermanine Chery for tabling with us and doing a great job.
