With support from Salesforce and Bank of America, and in partnership with Boston Parks and Recreation, PowerCorps Boston, and American Forests, yesterday we planted 46 trees in Dorchester's Harambee Park. The park, located along Blue Hill Ave, is an active recreation and community gathering space with a tennis center and a Boys and Girls Club. The trees planted on Wednesday consisted of a variety of maples, tupelos, dogwoods, and oaks and were planted to increase the tree canopy in a redlined environmental justice neighborhood, meeting two of priority indicators in Boston's new urban forest plan. Thank you to all the local community members, Salesforce, and PowerCorps volunteers who spent the day with us learning and digging together. We couldn't have done it without you! |
