April showers bring... Arbor Week events!
Only two and half weeks away, we are gearing up for another amazing Arbor Week

Join Speak for the Trees and The American City Coalition (TACC) for our ‘3rd Annual Savor the Square Tree Giveaway’ in Nubian Square for Roxbury Arbor Day! This event is sponsored by Verizon and in collaboration with the Arbor Day Foundation.

Savor the Square brings people together and connects them to local businesses and other community members. It celebrates and leverages the history and cultural assets for social and business development, and expands neighborhood vitality.

Plant trees for Black Lives in Dorchester

We're excited to be partnering with Ekene Ijeoma and Poetic Justice Group to organize a plant-in for Black Forest in Boston in collaboration with local volunteers. The Poetic Justice Group is collecting the names and stories of Black lives lost to Covid-19 in Dorchester and planting about 12 trees for them in Loesch Family Park on Friday, April 28th, from 12-4 pm.

They're looking for locals to participate in this historical and monumental work by signing up at black-forest.us. They're also organizing events in Black neighborhoods in all 50 states, so please share.
