Love Trees?
Help Us Find Sponsors for Arbor Week

Every year during the last week of April, we organize Arbor Week - a series of events to celebrate trees. Sponsorship of Arbor Week provides great visibility for corporations. We are hoping you will help us by spreading the word. Maybe you, a family member, or a good friend works for a company that would like to sponsor this wonderful celebration. We would love an introduction to the right person in that company.

Arbor Week events this year, like years past, include forest bathing, seedling giveaways, art, a screening of The Lorax, volunteer tree care activities, and tree walks. A highlight this year is a series of talks with Christine Carmichael, nationally known author of Racist Roots. Her thought-provoking book explores how our country’s history of racism has affected the tree cover in cities as well as steps we can take to help build healthier urban tree canopies for all people.

Sponsorship opportunities are designed for businesses of all sizes, with sponsorship levels ranging from $1,250 to $10,000. This week of events provides visibility through our e-newsletter, website, and social media. Through the combined power of these platforms, companies will benefit from new exposure and deepened engagement. For specifics about the visibility opportunities for each level of sponsorship, visit our sponsorship page.

Please connect with David Meshoulam, Executive Director, at [email protected] or  Victoria Frothingham, Development Manager, at [email protected] to make an introduction. Thank you for being our ambassador!

We’re Thrilled to Announce Two New Grants

A generous grant from the City of Boston’s Youth Employment and Opportunity SuccessLink Youth Jobs Program will fund the wages of 25 youth participants and five team leaders in our summer 2024 Teen Urban Tree Corps. For this grant, Speak for the Trees will also administer the payroll for BOLD Teens, a youth program in Codman Square with which the Teen Urban Tree Corps collaborated in 2023. We’re thrilled to deepen our partnership with BOLD Teens.

In addition, the Boston Planning and Development Agency (BPDA) awarded Speak for the Trees a Dot Block Community Benefit Fund grant to fund a tree planting at Ronan Park in Dorchester, near our office. At a recent recognition ceremony for grantees of Dot Block community benefit funds, awardees from all areas of Dorchester had the opportunity to network with fellow grant recipients.

We are deeply grateful to both funders for their support for our work.
