Learn to Care for Trees in Your Community

Our newly redesigned Community TreeKeepers program is here!

Local residents who want to care for trees or advocate for tree equity are invited to free community workshops to learn about the preservation, protection, and creation of green spaces in their urban neighborhoods.

We will hold three workshops in winter/spring and three workshops in summer/fall. Workshops will be held at our office in Dorchester, with hands-on training during our public planting events. By the end of this program, you will be confident in your knowledge of trees as public utilities and be able to impact how your friends, family, and neighbors view trees.

Workshops topics will include:

  • Tree identification
  • Tree care best practices
  • Tree Equity
  • Health assessment of trees
  • Diseases that affect urban trees
  • Identification of common invasive species in our region

Over the series of workshops, participants will receive training on tools such as i-Tree and TESA to show the importance of the urban tree canopy in Boston when developing advocacy and project materials.
