It's Generation to Generation Liberation!
"Ours is not the struggle of one day, one week, or one year. Ours is not the struggle of one judicial appointment or presidential term. Ours is the struggle of a lifetime, or maybe even many lifetimes, and each one of us in every generation must do our part."
- John Lewis, American civil rights leader

At Speak for the Trees, we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by recognizing the importance of rest and reflection. On Monday, while the nation reflects on the contributions of Dr. King—and, notably, the holiday’s broader implications—we will take this holiday to pause, refresh, and spend time with our families.

Rest is a vital part of ensuring we can continue our work with purpose and intention. We encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on Dr. King's vision and how we can all contribute to a more equitable and just future.

- Jerel Ferguson, Director of Community Outreach & Engagement
