Thank you for your interest in the Green Jobs Solutions Map!
About the project
The Green Jobs Solution Map –a partnership between Speaks for the Trees, PowerCorps Boston, and American Forests–seeks to hear from private, public, and non-profit employers in the fields of urban forestry, tree care, landscaping, green roofs, green infrastructure, tree nurseries, gardening, landscape design and related fields to help better understand the work opportunities and challenges facing the field.
Who this project involves
This is a collaborative project funded by a Impact Driven Collaboration grant from Liberty Mutual Foundation. Partners include:
- American Forests: providing GIS mapping and incorporation of Tree Equity data and employment data
- PowerCorpsBOS: providing feedback on the survey, current assessments of employees opportunities and challenges, and partnerships in the field
- Speak for the Trees: developing the survey and connecting with employees for survey implementation.
- US Forest Service: providing feedback and guidance in the incorporation of its STEW MAP.
The goals of this project
The results of this project will be an interactive GIS map that outlines the opportunities, needs, and bottlenecks in the green industry field in the Boston area. This publicly available data will help employers and employees better understand the geographic, training, and compensation opportunities and gaps in the field of urban forestry.
