Team Volunteer Events
We are thrilled to work with you and your employees for team-building events or as part of your company’s community service program.
We hold volunteer events in partnership with sponsors, as we don’t have a calendar of pre-planned events for teams to join. Event sponsorship helps us cover the costs of coordination, tools, and staff time, and ensures we can create a meaningful and well-supported experience for your team. We greatly appreciate your time and effort spent in volunteer hours.
Event Types
Our staff is onsite for all events to provide training, assist with the project, and make sure that everything runs smoothly. We provide the tools and equipment needed. Our outdoor events go on rain or shine, unless there is severe weather, and your team should wear weather-appropriate clothing, sturdy shoes, and bring a hat.
Tree Planting
Spend 2-3 hours with your employees digging in the dirt for a great team-building opportunity. You can opt for lunch on site and a tree walk.
What to Expect: Planting trees is fun! It also requires physical labor. Our team will show you how to plant a tree and be onsite to help and advise throughout the entire event. Your team will work in small groups to dig a hole to accommodate the tree and root ball, remove large rocks, situate the tree, fill in the hole, and set up stakes around the tree. Helping to clean up tools and supplies is appreciated.
Timing: Spring and fall months
Suggested team size: 15 people minimum
Sponsorship: $1,000 per tree (7 tree minimum)
Tree Care
Care for trees by watering, mulching, and cleaning up the surrounding green space. You can include a tree walk or add onsite lunch. This is a great way to be outside with your team and help our trees thrive!
What to expect: Our staff will show your team how to water, weed, and mulch trees. Work will involve shoveling, carrying materials, and bending or kneeling on the ground. Some sites include cleaning up the surrounding green space, planting flowers, or other small yard projects.
Timing: Spring, summer, and fall months
Suggested team size: 5 and up depending on the site
Sponsorship: $1,000-$3,000
Tree Giveaway
Tree giveaways offer free trees to community members to take home and plant on their own property. You can opt for lunch on site.
What to expect: Your team will be the event host, set up the event, including trees and tables, and then greet community members and help them select trees.
Timing: Spring and fall months
Suggested team size: 5 people (smaller team sizes are better for this event)
Sponsorship: $5,000 and up
