Join Speak for the Trees at the Boston Green Academy as we host a FREE Fall tree giveaway. The Boston Green Academy (BGA) in located at 20 Warren Street Brighton, MA 02135. BGA welcomes diverse students of all abilities, educates and empowers them to succeed in college and career, and prepares them to lead in the sustainability of our community and world. BGA will have a textile bin that people will be welcome to use. Attendees are encouraged to bring any textiles that they are looking to get rid of. Also, attendees and volunteers will have access to our container farm and snacks will be available in their new outdoor classroom and community garden.
Allston/Brighton is listed as an EJ (environmental justice) community, where tree canopy coverage is at an inequitable level in comparison to other areas in Boston. At Speak for the Trees, we work at the intersection of environmental justice, racial and social equity, public health, and climate change to advocate for a healthy and equitable urban forest in all Boston neighborhoods. First come, first served.
Boston residents only until 1pm. All residents are welcome to come after 1pm for remaining trees.
