Dorchester Community Tree Walk – May 25

Join Speak for the Trees and the Codman Square Neighborhood Development Corporation (CSNDC) for an exciting Community Tree Walk through Dorchester. This engaging event is designed to bring together community members, tree enthusiasts, and experts to explore the neighborhood, discover points of interest, and learn about the importance of trees in our urban environment.

Come learn about the trees in the neighborhood and the important role they play in creating a healthy, resilient, and thriving neighborhood. We will be joined by Ph.D students from BU URBAN who will provide expertise on relevant environmental justice topics relevant to the neighborhood of Dorchester such as gas leaks, air pollution, and soil health. During previous meetings, we have shared stories, delved into the science behind trees, and explored a neighborhood map. Now, it’s time to put all that knowledge into action and experience the beauty and significance of trees firsthand!

This walk is supported by an Environmental Justice grant from the Environmental Protection Agency and was done in collaboration with the Codman Square Neighborhood Development Corporation (CSNDC), EveryDay Boston, and EmVision.
