Join Speak for the Trees as we host our next FREE Tree Giveaway in Dorchester. The Food Project (TFP) farm is located at 40 West Cottage Street, Dorchester, MA 02125. Our giveaway is being sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation and Texas Roadhouse! The Food Project is also hosting it's City Farm Fest, where you can buy vegetable seedlings and gardening supplies! (11 Brook Avenue, Roxbury) Trees are first come, first serve. Boston residents only until 1pm. All residents are welcome to come after 1pm for remaining trees. Available Trees: Kousa Dogwood, Japanese Stewartia, Southern Magnolia, Sourwood, Carolina Silverbell Dorchester is listed as an EJ (environmental justice) community, where tree canopy coverage is at an inequitable level in comparison to other areas in Boston. At Speak for the Trees, we work at the intersection of environmental justice, racial and social equity, public health, and climate change to advocate for a healthy and equitable urban forest in all Boston neighborhoods.
